In 1998 the Lady Red Devils placed 7th out of 8 teams at the HHC Championship. The boys placed 5th. In 1999, Coach Gast's first with the program, both teams placed 3rd at their respective HHC Championships. Since 1999 the boys team has won 6 HHC Championships (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) and the girls have won 3 (2004, 2005, 2006).
Not only have the teams become powers in the HHC, both teams have placed second or third at the Columubs Sectional over the past seasons with the boy's team claiming the Sectional Championship in 2004. After moving to the Jasper Sectional both teams claimed team titles in 2005 and 2006.
Besides coaching the Red Devils, Coach Gast is also the head coach of the PACESETTER Aquatics USA swimming team that is located in Jeffersonville.
Coach Gast is married to Shelley Gast and they have three children. Kea, Kevin and Kyle.
